SOLD!! Gold Soutache Embroidered Navy Wool Split Sleeve Coat of Unknown Origin.
Where has this stunning work of art come from? Mongolia? London? Is it from 1760, 1860, 1960? The soutache braiding has been painstakingly sewn on by hand, but by whom? 99.99% of the population will not know either, but they will sense that this piece holds a magical story. Like an old woman who has seen things, this coat has seen things. Fully lined in black with a small interior pocket on left. There are a few spots where the thread on the soutache has come a bit loose but it can be secured. It is in miraculous condition, almost as if some kind of otherworldly force has protected it for decades upon decades. Please refer closely to photos.
Measures, (very loosely), laying flat 21.5" from arm pit to arm pit. 20" from shoulder seam to wrist. 25" from shoulder seam to hem. Its shape and fit are VERY forgiving.
